Alterfest 2008 Guitar Hero III Tournament

Tournament Set-up and Guidelines:

Participants may pre-register by downloading a registration form and returning to the address listed and postmarked by August 22, 2008. Your registration form and fee secures your registration. The tournament is limited to the first 32 participants in each age category: 14 and under & 15 and up. Alternates may register the day of the tournament in the event of a No-Show of a participant. Pre-registration is $10 before August 31st. Registration is $12 on or after August 31st. All participants will receive a FREE tournament T-Shirt.

SUNDAY, August 31st : Noon – 3:00 pm

Round One : Single elimination, song difficulty HARD , and in Pro Face-Off mode. Song will be picked by judges. 16 winners from each age category will move onto the 2 nd Round. (2 hrs. estimated time)

Round Two : Single elimination, song difficulty HARD , and in Pro Face-Off mode. Song will be picked by judges. 8 winners will move onto the 3rd Round. (1 hour estimated time)

MONDAY, September 1st : 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Round Three : Double elimination, song difficulty EXPERT , and in Pro Face-Off mode. Each player will pick a song of their choice. The player with the highest combined score moves onto the next and final round – 4 players total. (1 hour estimated time)

Final Round : Double elimination, song difficulty EXPERT , and in Pro Face-Off mode. Each player will pick a song of their choice but it must be an 8 tier song. The players with the highest combined scores will win 1 st , 2 nd , and 3 rd place respectively in their age category. (1 hour estimated time)

Games and equipment will be provided by Alterfest. Any mishandling of equipment (throwing of guitar, hitting guitar or damaging any equipment) will result in elimination from the tournament and possibly paying for damages incurred. Tournament will be held in the Entertainment Area, between Seton Hall and the main school building. No practice songs will be given before the tournament. Tournament rules and prizes are subject to change based on number of participants. Participants may be photographed during events with or without notice, credit or compensation. Signature of tournament sign-up sheet and payment of Tournament entry signifies your legal receipt, acknowledgement, and acceptance of the above rules.
